AN artist whose exhibition was cancelled due to the coronavirus lockdown, is set to showcase her new project at The Millennium Centre over the next three months, called Escape.

Elizabeth Grima, who is from St Helens, was set to showcase her exhibition called 'Artist on the Run' but the various rules surrounding lockdown meant it was cancelled.

However she has used lockdown to progress her work and is now preparing to present an exhibition of more than 90 artworks that will adorn the walls on the first floor of the Millennium Centre from April 30 to July 21.

Elizabeth said: "When restrictions started to lift, I went looking for places to display my work but expected to be put on the bottom of a long long waiting list, so I was shocked but thrilled to be offered a slot straight away.

"It'll be a bit of whirlwind to have everything ready in time".

Elizabeth has used lockdown as a time to paint.

Her love for trees and sunlight will be apparent in many of the artworks she has selected for this exhibition and she states that painting has been her escape while being stuck at home and she is delighted that her work will be able to benefit and uplift the spirits of visitors to the Millennium Centre over the next 3 months.
