I just love painting pictures.

I was born in 1968 and live in Brighouse, West Yorkshire. I discovered an early flair for art, initially taking inspiration from local surroundings with a preference for buildings and landscapes. Graduating from Leicester Polytechnic BA (Hons) Graphic Design in 1989, I worked in the greeting card industry for twenty one years but now work in Customer Services. Alongside this role my reputation as an artist continued to grow exhibiting in numerous local shows, some nationals and the international “Europastel” Exhibition in Italy and Russia 2002. I have produced many commissions for private buyers with favourite themes being house and pet portraits

In 1996 I won the Townscape and Landscape category in the Society of all Artists “Open Painting Competition”.

I have really enjoyed my career as an artist so far and have met many inspirational people throughout my involvement in various local Art Societies. I am a former President of the Huddersfield Art Society and current Vice President .Sales of my work have also helped various charities.
I am constantly finding new inspiration, particularly in subjects rich in colour, light and texture. Favourite themes have ranged from atmospheric sunsets to bright floral scenes. I am currently producing many small experimental and spontaneous works in oil, pastel and watercolour. I have continued to love sharing my art with others both in live shows and on the internet .I particularly enjoy the direct response when posting new works onto my Facebook page and various Facebook groups of which I am a member.
I am now enjoying learning from previous work and using all these experiences to plan my next move forward with all the great support I am receiving.
